Quiet Meadow, again!

I warned you--I'm all packed up, so have minimal supplies for cardmaking!!  I recently ordered the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set, along with the coordinating Meadow dies.  So, it's what was used again on today's card!!  (stick with me though--just a few more weeks, and I'll be in my new stamp room!!)

I made this card for two different challenges:  the Flower Challenge #70--for Clean and Simple, and the Less is More #468, which called for Embossing!

I embossed the flower using Versamark ink and Black embossing powder, then colored using my ink pads and a water painter brush.  (check out the new Embossing Additions Tool Kit!!)  I'm not an artist by any stretch of the imagination, but the water painters make it easy!   I used Old Olive and Sweet Sorbet.  The layers are all Basic White!

Here are all the supplies used on today's card:

Quiet Meadow for GDP #350

Good morning!!  It's been a crazy couple weeks--we bought a house, sold our house and are now busy packing up 29 years of stuff!!  (that's a alot of stuff!! haha!)  But, I took some time yesterday to just stamp a card or two!  This first one uses the sketch at Global Design Project as the inspiration!

IMG_2896

I cut three of the stems from Basic White cardstock, and glued them together--so that there is more substance across the opening of the card (cut out using a circle die).  I then embossed the sentiment in white on Basic Black cardstock and cut out using the Stylish Shapes Dies.  That is adhered to the stem and the right side of the circle.

For the background, I used a sheet of the Perfectly Penciled Designer Paper--doesn't the image coordinate perfectly with the cut out stem?!!  It really made me happy!

IMG_2898It's a very simple card, but I like it!  I hope you do, too!
