When you think of leaves you may think of autumn, but the Forever Greenery Suite is here to change your mind!

This gorgeous collection of leafy images and greetings is one of my top must-have items from the new Annual Catalog. The detailed images are timeless and work with a variety of styles from rustic to modern. Use them alone for quick and simple cards or add the dies and coordinating embellishments to really create that wow effect.

These leaves won't fall behind in autumn, I'll be reaching for them to create all year-round. This shabby chic card tutorial is just one example of the colorful creations you can make with this suite!

CARD: Prized Peony

Prized Peony--such a beautiful stamp set!  Definitely a favorite of mine!

Colors are Petal Pink and Basic Gray.  Soft and pretty!  The flower was stamped then colored in using a sponge dauber and Petal Pink ink.

Happy Tuesday!!!  How is your week going so far?  All is well here in the sunny Southwest!  Although, I watched the weather report last night, and it doesn't look like it's going to be very sunny this week!  But, we can always use the moisture, so no complaining here!

Today I have a fun masculine card to share with you!  I used the Beautiful World Stamp Set and my current favorite embossing folder, Old World Paper:

I just love the wrinkled up look it gives!  And that Cinnamon Cider cardstock -- isn't it beautiful!?  I used Stampin' Seal to adhere everything, except the circles -- those are popped up with Stampin' Dimensions.  Hope you like it!

Pet lovers are howling with excitement over the purr-fectly whimsical Playful Pets suite. The Playful Pets bundle of stamps and dies are a must-have for anyone with a fur-baby. The Playful Pets Designer Series Paper is a great accent and some of the designs coordinate with the dies to create fast and fabulous pet cutouts.

In this tutorial I'm showing one layout done two ways. The first is a simple stamping (#simplestamping) card using stamps, ink, and paper. The second card is the stepped up version that adds in die cutting, 3D embossing, and heat embossing.

TIP: When creating a mask, stamp the image over the sticky section of a sticky note so that the sticky will help the mask stay in place while stamping.

CARD: Celebrate Sunflowers for PCC384

Happy Saturday!!  Today's card was inspired by the sketch challenge from the Paper Craft Crew!  I really love the way this turned out!  I'm a pretty simple stamper, but I tried to embellish a little more for this card.  The little branches behind the image came from the Sunflowers Dies.  When I first saw them, I didn't know if I'd ever even use them! haha!  The Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder--well, you just have to have it.  Love the subtle texture it gives to your creations!

CARD: Way to Goat

Hi all!!!  I've had two days off from work -- pure bliss!!!  I spent most of the day yesterday in my stamp room!!  So much fun!  And, of course, I had to play along with some challenges!!  My first one is for Freshly Made Sketches and Just Add Ink!

I love this stamp set, Way to Goat!!  It is soooo cute!  

The measurements for this card are 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" -- wanted to make sure it would still fit in a normal envelope!  Always thinking, I am! haha!  Colors used are Pretty Peacock, Pool Party and Smoky Slate.  I didn't come up with that combo--it's the Just Add Ink challenge:

CARD: Waterfront

Measurements:

• Mossy Meadow: 4-7/8” x 2-3/8”
• Whisper White: 4-3/4” x 2-1/4”

 Instructions:

1. Adhere Mossy Meadow card to card.
2. Stamp the “mountains” in Crumb Cake
3. Stamp the “grass” below the mountains
4. Stamp the “water” in Pool Party (stamping off first so it won’t be so dark). Stamp the other “water” stamp as picture show (do not stamp off).
5. Stamp the scatter stamp in Pool Party.
6. Stamp the “trees” in Mossy Meadow.
7. Stamp the sentiment in Mossy Meadow.
8. Stamp the envelope if desired.

CARD: Celebrate Sunflowers

Measurements: 

• Bumblebee: 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” (card base)
• Mossy Meadow: 4” x 5 ¼”
• Watercolor Paper: 3 ¾” x 5”
• Linen Trim: 6"

 Instructions:

1. Fold Bumblebee card base in half and adhere Mossy Meadow layer onto top of card base using Stampin’ Seal.
2. Run sunflower die and sheet of copy paper through any die-cut machine to create a mask piece to use over sunflower when stamping leaves. Set aside.
3. Using black StazOn ink, stamp large sunflower onto Watercolor Paper.
4. Using sunflower “mask”, put on top of stamped sunflower lining it up just to the inside edge of the stamped image (if you line it up exactly on the line, there will be a small gap between the leaf and sunflower images). Ink up the large leaf and stamp over the mask. Do this two more times to create three stamped leaves on your project.
5. Create a puddle of ink in the Soft Suede ink pad lid by pushing on the bottom of the pad. Add a couple drops of ink refill in the lid if more color is needed. Using Water Pen, color in the center of sunflower. Start lightly ; you can always add more color and shading as desired.
6. Color in the sunflower and leaves using the steps in #5. Use Bumblebee ink for the sunflower and Mossy Meadow ink for the leaves. Start in the center of the sunflower and work your way out towards the petal tips. You can leave some white space, too. After you’ve colored the entire sunflower, load your water pen with color directly from the ink refill dots in the lid (to create a darker color) and go back over some of the sunflower petals to create shading. Use care when coloring the leaves so no ink bleeds onto the sunflower itself. Start out with less color and then go back and add some darker shading in the center of the leaves.
7. To create ink splotches on the card, create a puddle of ink in the lid of the Early Espresso ink pad, adding a couple of drops of ink refill as desired. Pick up some ink using the middle size water pen and then tap on the lid while holding the water pen over the card. Pick up more ink and water and continue randomly over the card until you’re satisfied.
8. Using black StazOn ink, stamp sentiment onto the lower right corner of card.
9. Fray the linen trim, tie into a bow and attach to sunflower with two Mini Glue Dots.
10. Attach five enamel dots in a random pattern onto sunflower layer and then attach stamped layer to card front using Stampin’ Seal. Use Bone Folder to distress left edges of stamped piece.

TIPS: Use a Bone Folder to curve the cardstock strip used for the handle. The Bone Folder will stretch and bend the paper fibers without creasing, giving you a smoother handle.
