  • Soft Suede: 3 1/2” x 3 1/2"

Cheer to the Years!

We're having a Shoebox Swap with my group, the Nacho Average Stampers, this Friday night!  I'm so excited to see these ladies again!  It's always a night filled with laughter and friendship -- I am truly blessed to have them in my life.

Here's the card I designed for the swap -- I adore snowflakes, and when I saw the Cheer to the Years stamp set, I just had to have it!  It's a great set that can be used all year round -- Christmas, New Year's and Anniversary, Wedding, etc!

I created a fun Christmas card with not-so-traditional colors.  This is one of my favorite color combinations:  Real Red, Marina Mist and Crumb Cake.
Cheers

Here are the measurements and instructions:

Measurements:

  • Marina Mist: 5 ½”x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”;  1” x 3 ¾”
  • Real Red: 3 7/8” x 5 1/8”;  3/8” x 4 ¼”
  • Crumb Cake: 3 ¾” x 5”;  scrap for punched sentiment

Instructions:

  1. Stamp the large snowflake randomly over your Crumb Cake panel, using Marina Mist ink.
  2. Stamp the small snowflake in the empty spaces, using Real Red ink.
  3. Stamp sentiment in Real Red ink. Punch out using the Pretty Label Punch.
  4. Add some large snowflakes in Marina Mist Ink.
  5. Sponge edges of label -- this is an easy way to create a “layered” look, and makes the punched piece stand out against the background.
  6. Cut banner tails in your strips of Real Red and Marina Mist.
  7. Assemble your card as shown. Stampin’ Dimensionals were used behind the punched sentiment.

Shutter Card Tutorial

I am so excited to share this card with you!!  I belong to a great group of demonstrators--each month, we each do a tutorial on a specific technique or card fold!  This month, my assignment was a Shutter Card!  I absolutely LOVE how this one turned out!!  There's a link below to download the PDF Tutorial!

Mixed Drinks

082317

Measurements:

  • Whisper White (base): 5 ½” x 8 ½”, folded in half
  • Whisper White: scrap to die cut square
  • Crumb Cake (layer): 4” x 5 ¼”
  • Crushed Curry: 2” x 6”
  • Real Red: (banner)” ½” x 2 ½”
  • Real Red (strip): 1/8” x 5”

Instructions:

  1. Stamp the foam/whipped cream image randomly on the Crushed Curry layer using Whisper White craft ink. Let dry.
  2. Adhere the Real Red strip to the Crushed Curry layer, leaving ½” border at the top as shown. Use the Silicone Craft Sheet when placing the adhesive on this strip so that the excess adhesive will not stick to your work surface. Adhere to the Crumb Cake layer on an angle as shown. Turn the cardstock over and trim the excess layers from the backside, following the edge as a guide.  Adhere these layers to the Whisper White card base.
  3. Die cut a Stitched Square from the framelits. Stamp the tall glass image using Memento ink, near the center bottom of the square. Be sure to leave room at the top for the whipped cream and straw. Stamp the whipped cream image on top of the glass using Memento ink.  Stamp the outline cherry image on the whipped cream using Memento ink. Fill the inside of the cherry with the solid image using Real Red ink.  Use the shortest straw image and stamp on the whipped cream using Crushed Curry ink.  Be sure the ‘finished edge’ of the straw is at the top.
  4. To fill the glass, ink the coordinating solid image using Crumb Cake ink. Stamp off one layer of ink on scratch paper to reduce the shade. Stamp inside the glass.  Adhere the image square to the card base using Dimensionals.
  5. Create a banner tip on the right side of the Real Red cardstock. Stamp the greeting close to the banner tip using Memento ink. Adhere the banner to the card as shown using Dimensionals.  Place a Crushed Curry Enamel Shape Heart to the left side of the greeting.
  6. Fill in the whipped cream using Clear Wink of Stella.
  7. Fill in the glass using Fine-Tip Glue. Let dry completely. The glue will dry clear and provide a realistic look to the glass.

Spooky Cat Boo!

SPOOKYCAT1

Measurements:

  • Thick Whisper White Cardstock – 4-1/4” x 11”
  • Basic Black Cardstock – 5-1/8” x 3-7/8”
  • Whisper White Cardstock – 5” x 2-7/8”
  • Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock – 5” x 3/4”
  • Vintage Crochet Trim – 6”

Instructions:

  • Arrange the Large Alphabet letters B-O-O on the 5-1/8” x 3-7/8” Whisper White and run it through the Big Shot to die cut them out.  NOTE:  Do not toss any center pieces from any of the alphabet letters.
  • Arrange the same Whisper White cardstock piece with all of the alphabet letters and their insert pieces inside the Woodland Textured Embossing folder and run through the Big Shot.  NOTE:  Die cutting the alphabet letters after texture embossing will cause the raised embossing to flatten as it goes through the Big Shot.
  • Lay the Whisper White cardstock layer with the alphabet letters and their insert pieces onto a piece of Grid paper.  Lightly sponge Smokey Slate ink over top of the raised Woodland embossed tree trunks and branches.
  • Adhere the main portion of the Whisper White layer to the Basic Black cardstock using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Lay the B-O-O letters in place, but only add liquid glue to the alphabet inserts and set into place.
  • Add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the alphabet letters B-O-O and set into place.  NOTE:  pay special attention to the letter O’s and matching up the correct embossed tree trunks and branches.
  • Ink the Trick or Treat sentiment from the Spooky Cat stamp set with Archival Basic Black, stamp in the center of the Lemon Lime Twist strip, cover with Stampin’ Clear Embossing powder and heat set using the Heat Tool on high setting.  Add to the bottom portion of the Basic Black cardstock matte layer leaving a gap between this layer and the Woodland embossed layer.
  • Adhere the Black Vintage Crochet Trim with a light line of Multipurpose Liquid glue to the gap area of the focal layer and wrap the ends to the back side of the Basic Black layer.
  • Adhere the focal layer to the Thick Whisper White cardstock base.  Add medium-sized Black Rhinestone Jewels to either side of the Trick or Treat sentiment; and add Mini Black Sequins to various spots on the Woodland embossed layer using a small dot of Multipurpose Liquid glue.
