Freshly Made Sketches

Good morning!!  I stayed home from work yesterday with a horrible migraine.  It kept me up all night!  But, by the afternoon, I was feeling a bit better -- no more headache, just tired.  So, I decided to get into my stamp room and play!!  I've decided to try and use ALL of my current designer paper stash before it all retires!  That would be more impressive to you if you saw my stash!! haha!!  I love Stampin' Up!'s designer paper, and every year I buy it all!!  haha!!  So, here's a card I made with the Bohemian Designer paper:

It's a VERY simple card -- and I made a bunch using this same layout!  I also used my retiring Blackberry Bliss cardstock!  2 birds with 1 stone.....

The layout I used is from the Freshly Made Sketches:

I always love their sketches, and use them frequently when I need some inspiration for cards!

The sentiment is from a past My Paper Pumpkin kit.  These kits come with some of the cutest stamps!

Project Sheet Wednesday - Feels Good

Good morning!!  I wanted to share a card to day made with another retiring stamp set, Feel Goods.

  • Whisper White Card Base 5 ½” x 4 ¼” when folded
  • Crumb Cake layer – 4” x 5 ¼”
  • Botanical Garden DSP strips – ¾” x 4”
  • Whisper White card stock – 4” x 4” (for deco label)

  1. Fold Whisper White card stock into 5 ½” x 4 ¼” card base. Adhere Crumb Cake layer to card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  2. Use paper snips to cut ‘triangle’ onto each end of Botantical Garden Designer Series Paper strips. Adhere to Crumb Cake layer, staggering their heights, as desired. Fold up the end of the strips a little, for some dimension.
  3. Stamp sentiment from “Feel Goods” using stazon on Whisper White card stock and cut on Big Shot using magnetic pad and Deco Label framelits. Sponge edge with Cajun Craze. Adhere on top of DSP strips using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  4. Punch out flowers from more Botantical Garden DSP using Itty Bitty Accents punch and Petite Petals Punch. Use glue dots to adhere flowers to card.
  5. Finish off card with a linen thread bow and rhinestones.

What Will You Stamp? #61

Welcome to another week of What Will You Stamp?! This week, we were challenged to use the Heartfelt Sympathy stamp set.  This is such a beautiful stamp set.  And, the sentiments are "just right".   I love it!  For this card, I used more of the Timeless Elegance Designer Paper -- I love to color it with my Stampin' Write Markers -- makes such a soft and elegant background.  The ribbon treatment did not come out the way I wanted it to -- not sure what I was going for, but this wasn't it! haha!  I do like it though!  To get this effect you'll need to use your Tear 'n Tape -- put it down first, then "scrunch" up your ribbon as you place it on the adhesive!  This technique works best with the seam binding!

To participate in this week’s challenge and to see other great projects from the Design Team using this stamp set, be sure to visit the What Will You Stamp? Challenge Blog!

I hope you'll play along with us this week!  I love seeing all the GREAT ideas!

Beautiful Ride

Here's another fun set in the Occasions Catalog that will only be available until May 31!  I love the little bug!!

  • Whisper White 5 ¼ x 4, 5 ¼ x 1, ¾ x 3 scrap for sentiment banner
  • Tempting Turquoise 8 ½ X 4 ¼, 5 ¼ x 1, ¾ x 3 scrap for sentiment banner

  • Stamp Car and Love Stamp onto Whisper White layer using Memento Tuxedo Black ink
  • Use post it notes to mask around car
  • Apply one drop of each color reinker to baby wipes to create a baby wipe ink pad

  • Dab the baby wipe ink pad to the car, turning the baby wipes to achieve desired coloring

  • Remove post it notes, use blender pen to pick up color from the baby wipe ink pad and color top of car, bumper, middle of tires
  • Use a Basic Black marker to color tires
  • Taking the strip of whisper white that measures 1 X 5 ¼ dab the baby wipe ink pad onto it
  • Punch the colored 1 x 5 ¼ strip using the Confetti Hearts Border punch
  • Layer the Confetti Heart strip over the 1 x 5 ¼ Tempting Turquoise strip, attach both to the Whisper White layer
  • Stamp sentiment on whisper white scraps and create a banner using the Triple banner punch
  • Punch the Tempting Turquoise strip also with the Triple Banner punch
  • Layer the banners and attach using Dimensionals

If you happen to get any unwanted ink on your whisper white you can bling it up with Rhinestones!  Or you can leave the Rhinestones off.

Going Global

I'm so sad that this one won't be around after May 31!  Be sure to order yours soon!!

  • Whisper White:    11” X 4 ¼”  &  Scrap
  • Cherry Cobbler: 5 ¼” X 4”  &  Scrap
  • Soft Sky:    5 1/8” X 3 7/8”

    • Emboss World Traveler onto Soft Sky Layer
    • Dab or Drag Pear Pizzazz ink pad directly onto raised land portions
      • Note 1: Be sure to emboss so that the raised portion is the land…geographically correct
      • Note 2: Be gentle as to not get much pear ink in the water
      • Note 3: Every one will look different!  It is based on the moistness of your ink pad, as well as how gentle of soft the person applying the ink is
    • Fold White card base & adhere Cherry Cobbler and embossed Soft Sky layers with SNAIL.
    • Stamp “You Are My Greatest Adventure” twice (cleaning ink off in between)
      • Once with White ink onto Cherry Cobbler Scrap (Punch out with Sweetheart Punch)
      • Once with Cherry Cobbler ink onto White Scrap (Use Paper Snips to closely cut out “greatest” strip and flag the ends)
    • Cinch the 1 ¼” Grograin Ribbon together and use the Baker’s Twine to tie in a knot around it…leaving long enough ends to drape down
    • Use Glue Dots to adhere Ribbon to Soft Sky Layer
    • Use Glue Dots to adhere Heart to Ribbon
    • Use a small strip/piece of dimensionals to pop up “greatest” flag

Project Sheet Wednesday: Balloon Celebration

  • Whisper White Thick- 5.5x8.5”
  • Pool Party-2.25x4.25”
  • Basic Black- 3.25x4”
  • Shimmery White- 3x3.75”

    1.  Cut the card base, score and fold

    3. Cut the Pool Party piece and run through the Big Shot in the Softly Falling TIEF, adhere to the card base with SNAIL adhesive
    4. Stamp the sentiment onto the card front
    5. Once the Shimmery White layer is dry, stamp the ‘flower’ using the stem stamp and piecing together the small and large individual ‘seeds’ to create the flower
    6. Adhere to the Basic Black mat and adhere to the card front
    7. Use Tear & Tape adhesive to add a strip of Pool Party Glitter ribbon to the card front

TGIF Challenge #50

Good morning!!  I have a fun (and funny) card for you today!  It uses the stamp set "Just Kidding" -- it's not in any catalog, but can be ordered anytime!  I love the sayings -- works great for me and my friends as we all head happily into our 50's!

I really like this sketch -- so many possibilities!  I used designer paper for the stripes, but you could also use washi tape, ribbon or stamp an image!!!   Be sure to check out the TGIF Challenge site!!
