Freshly Made Sketches!

I really and truly LOVE sketch challenges!  They are a fun way to come up with card ideas -- especially when planning for a class!!  I needed one more card for my card clubs this weekend, and just couldn't come up with anything!  Then, last week, this sketch was posted over at Freshly Made Sketches (one of my fav sites!):

FMS Final 225-001

I also wanted to show the ladies the new Wink of Stella pens -- absolutely love these pens!!  So, here's what I came up with:

Febcardclub5 (2)

I used the clear Wink of Stella on the stamped balloon image, but then I also added it to all the Hello Honey balloons on the designer paper!  Here's an upclose:

So sparkly!!!

    Measurement:

    • Tip Top Taupe: 4 ¼” X 11” (score at 5 ½”)
    • Whisper White: 4” X 5 ¼”

    Instructions:

        1. Ink up the spotted image from Gorgeous Grunge with Tip Top Taupe ink and stamp once on scratch paper and then stamp on the whisper white piece (this keeps the ink from being too intense). Stamp randomly on the piece of whisper white.
        2. Stamp the sun burst image from Kinda Eclectic in Tip Top Taupe (you may want to “stamp off” once so it’s not so intense).
        3. Stamp sentiment from Happy Birthday, Everyone in Night of Navy.
        4. Add Tip Top Taupe ribbon before adhering to card base.

Nacho Average Blog Hop: Occasions Edition!!

Good morning, and welcome to another fun Nacho Average Blog Hop!!  This month, we're featuring stamp sets from the awesome Occasions Catalog!!  We all picked a different stamp set to highlight, so you'll get all kinds of fun ideas!!  I chose the Rose Wonder Stamp Set, along with the coordinating Rose Garden Thinlits:

      Febtammy

I cut out the rose with the thinlits, then adhered them to our fun Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper (today is the last day to get this!!).  I trimmed along the outside, then attached it to a piece of Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum.  Cute and quick! :-)

I also did another, using just the stamps:

      Febtammy1

      • Stamp rose image in Basic Black.
      • Color in with Stampin’ Write Markers (Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight & Soft Sky were used on this card)
      • “Smoosh” the versamark pad over the whole image – make sure it’s all covered!
      • Pour Iridescent Ice embossing powder over your card front, then heat with Heat Tool
      • Add your favorite sentiment to the inside of the card.

Hope you like the cards!!!  Now, time to continue on the hop!

      TGIF #42

Good morning!  Can you tell I had some time to stamp!!  I go almost a week without posting, then three posts over two days!!  Such consistency!!  Thanks to all of you that stay with me--I really do appreciate it!!

Today's card was made for the TGIF Sketch Challenge (and for my Stamp-a-Stack the end of this month!) I used the new Pedal Pusher Stamp Set -- it's a new Sale-a-bration item, available on February 16th!  (FREE with a qualifying order!)

      DSCF1117

I couldn't find my white embossing powder, so I used the Iridescent Ice embossing powder for this resist technique!  Kinda fun to see some sparkle!!

      Here's the sketch I used:

      Less is More #263

I love clean and simple.  It's my favorite style of card making.  Don't get me wrong, I love all the fru-fru stuff, the cards that won't fit in an envelope!  I go crazy looking at it all!  BUT, when it comes down to creating, well, I prefer the clean and simple.  After 15+ years, I'm finally not afraid to admit that I'm just not good at fru-fru!  :-)  I still admire it and those that do it so beautifully, but I'm okay with my style!

Funny enough though, the simple, one-layer challenge blogs really do give me the hardest challenges.  Not sure why that is, hmmmm.............

Over at the Less is More blog, the challenge this week is to create a one layer card that includes a stem!  The hardest part was picking which stem to use!! :-)  Here's what I created:

      DSCF1111

I colored onto my stamp directly, using Calypso Coral and Pear Pizzazz Stampin' Write Markers.  After stamping, I used Dazzling Details to add some sparkle to the flowers.  It's very hard to capture with the camera, but it's very pretty!  and subtle.

Here are the supplies used for this card:

      Freshly Made Sketches #223

Hi!!  I worked long and hard on the current sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.  I had some grand ideas in my head.  Alas, they didn't seem to want to form correctly on cardstock!  Again, I really did work for quite a long time on this, which is why I am posting it even if it's not the greatest card.  It is the best one of the bunch..........yes, there were others!! haha!!

      DSCF1112

Again, alot of great ideas that just weren't working!  Heck, my glitter tape isn't even right!

Here's the sketch -- a really nice one!!
