Good morning and welcome to the SUDSOL Blog Tour!! We're featuring some of the new products in our 2012-13 Stampin' Up! Catalog!! I can't wait to show you my fun projects, but first I wanted to explain what SUDSOL is! It's a website just for Stampin' Up! demonstrators--there are loads of business files, projects, templates, class outlines, etc!! It's my go-to place when I'm "stuck" for ideas! And, while the website is absolutely awesome, the people are the main reason I'm a member! At any time of the day (or night!), you can post a question and get an instant answer! Everyone is very supportive, and Patti and Coleen keep things on track! I have been a member for as long as I can remember, and I don't think I'll ever leave!!
Okay, enough of the chatter!! :-) On to the projects! I wanted to highlight our new Bitty Banner Framelits and this great new specialty paper, Natural Composition! This first project is a tall box--the pattern can be found on the SUDSOL site HERE. The tutorial is by Kerin Sylvester.
I used the Natural Composition Specialty Paper for box, as well as the accents on the lid. I had planned on adding some fun embellishments on the sides of the box, but once I had it together, I didn't want to cover up the print! This paper has "glossy, raised patterns printed on heavy-weight Natural Paper". Love it!
For the lid, I used 5 strips of the Raspberry Ribble ribbon: 7", 6", 5", 4" & 3". I made each one into a loop, and then layered them on top of each other! A small strip of ribbon was wrapped around to create the "bow".
and a side view:
To go along with the box, here's a simple card:
I used the same sheet of specialty paper, along with the new In Color Patterns stack. The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set. I stamped it on whisper white cardstock with Raspberry Ripple Classic Ink. Then, I cut it out using the Bitty Banner Framelits and my Big Shot! I also cut a banner out of the designer paper, cut it in half, and layered it behind the Natural Composition paper.
And, another example using the In Color Designer Paper Stack:
I simply cut banners out of each color of the stack: Gumball Green, Primrose Petals, Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit and Raspberry Ripple. Then, I stamped with Midnight Muse ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock, then cut out using the Bitty Banners Framelits again! The card base is Crumb Cake, with a layer of Midnight Muse!
I hope you enjoyed the projects! I kept them simple--great for workshops or classes!! All the projects will also be uploaded to my gallery on SUDSOL HERE.
