SUDSOL BLOG TOUR!!!
August 15, 2011
Happy Tuesday! And, welcome to the SUDSOL Blog Tour!!! What is a "sudsol"?!! Well, it's short for Simply Unique Demonstrators Sharing Online! It's just a wonderful community of demonstrators who share everything!! Projects, templates, business forms, business ideas, patterns, hints and ideas, etc!! We also have weekly challenges--sketch, CASE, Stamp Set of the week, and so forth!! I have been a member for almost 12 years (I think!), and wouldn't dream of NOT being a member! If you're a demonstrator and would like to give it a try--they offer a FREE 2-week trial!! Just click on the banner:
Now, onto the projects!! All my projects are made with the Cherish Friendship Stamp Set! I don't usually like to color (ask my customers!!), but for some reason, I don't mind with this set!!
This first project was made using a pattern found on SUDSOL--it's four 3x3 notes in a little magazine-style holder:
I used the Bowl of Cherries for the 3x3 notecards. We don't carry the notecards anymore, but they're super easy to make--cut a piece of cardstock 3" x 6", and score at 3"! I made four for this project. The black is 2 1/2" x 2 1/2". I used the Cutter Kit to distress the edges. The watercolor paper is 2 1/4" x 2 1/4". I stamped with Black Stazon, then used my Aquapainter and ink refills to color the bowl of cherries. Colors used: Pacific Point, Real Red and Old Olive!
Here's a close up of the magazine file:
I actually stamped the bowl of cherries with Real Red ink, then "smeared" it using the aquapainter. I was going for a muted image, so that my sentiment would "pop"!
For my second project, I tried a Center Step Card:
The chair image was the perfect size for this card!!! I love doing this chair in bright blue! I live in New Mexico, and it just reminds me of something you'd find in Santa Fe! And, it matches my very bright blue kitchen!! :-) Colors for this project are Pacific Point (see the patterned paper!), Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie.
And, last but not least, a really cool Corner Bookmark--I found this pattern on SUDSOL, too!!
For the main image, I used the Chair again, but then punched out the flower basket with the 1 1/4" square punch! The Real Red layer was punched with the 1 3/8" square punch. Other punches used: Eyelet Border Punch (real red) and the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border (pacific point). I love how it turned out! Here it is on a book page:
I hope you've enjoyed my projects!! Be sure and leave me some love in the form of comments!! :-)
Woo Hoo - I love the vibrant colors in your projects Tammy. And thanks for showcasing SUDSOL Patterns!
