Friday Mashup #18

Good morning!!  I love these Friday Mashup Challenges!!  They give you two "themes", and you can choose one or the other OR you can mash them up and use both!  This week's challenges were "glitter" and "anniversary"!  So, I mashed them up and did both:

I cheated and used our Red Glimmer Paper--which already has the glitter!!  Much less messy!!  (just fyi--I just got my Holiday Mini pre-order--the silver glimmer paper is to die for!!!!!)  I really love the glimmer paper--it's sooooo sparkly!  I used the Full Heart Punch for the red, and the Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit for the Basic Black layer behind it!  These are adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals, so they're raised a bit from the First Edition Designer Paper!  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes--what a great set!  It has a little something for all year round!! :-)  I also added more sparkle on the sentiment with Rhinestones!!

Here are your measurements:

Real Red Cardstock:  4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2"

Basic Black Cardstock:  3 7/8" x 3 1/8", plus two scraps for the hearts

First Edition Designer Paper:  3 3/4" x 3"

Very Vanilla Cardstock:  scrap for the sentiment.  (remember to stamp first, then punch!)

Red Glimmer Paper:  enough to punch to hearts!

Black Satin Ribbon:  about 5 1/2" inches (I usually cut mine a bit longer so I can trim!!)

Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon:  about 3 1/2" inches

Have a GREAT day!!!

Try it On Tuesday Challenge!!

Ccaug6

This card was made for the Try it on Tuesday Challenge!!  This is my first time playing along, but I don't think it'll be my last!!!!

I used the Party This Way Stamp Set, along with the Bring on the Cake Designer Paper!  It's a very simple card--only used Wild Wasabi Ink!!  Here are the measurements for the cardstock:

Wild Wasabi:  4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2";  4 1/4" x 1 1/2"

Peach Parfait:  4 1/2" x 1 3/4"

Whisper White:  4 1/8" x 1 3/8"

Designer Paper:  3 1/2" x 1 1/4" (need 3)

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Stamping 411 & CR84FN Collide!

I have been stamping and cutting and packing!!!  I've got several events coming up, and I'm trying to stay ahead!!  I'm pretty good at procrastinating until the night before--but my new year's (new Stampin' Up! year) resolution is to stay ahead of the game!  I also did some challenges--getting ready for my August classes and workshops!  When I can't come up with anything, I use these challenges to get the mojo flowing!  Thanks to all the wonderful ladies that post the challenges!!!

Here's one I did for the CR84FN Color Challenge and the Stamping 411 Sketch challenge:

CR84FN35

and, my card:

I used the Fabulous Florets Stamp Set--I really love this set.  I didn't think I would, but I had to order it for a class, and I can't stop using it!!  It made it's debut in the Summer Mini Catalog, but thank goodness it made it to the "big" catalog!  So, I can use it all year long!!  (hey, at least I'm taking a break from Delicate Doilies, right?!! haha!!)

Other items used:

Wisteria Wonder cardstock & ink;  Certainly Celery cardstock & ink;  Basic Gray cardstock & ink;  Whisper White cardstock & Satin Ribbon;  Scallop Trim Border Punch;  Big Shot & Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.

For measurements, you can click on the link above to go to the Stamping 411 post--those wonderful ladies always post them for the sketches!!  Sure makes it easy, huh?!!!

Have a GREAT day!!

Divas Sketch Challenge #148

Okay, as much as I loved my card from yesterday, I do not like this one.  There is just something missing, and I don't know how to fix it!!  Any suggestions?

It's a great sketch:

I just couldn't work with it!

Divasc148

The sentiment is from another of the FREE sets that Stampin' Up! sent me:  Sweetly Said.  I like the clean lines of the font on this one--very versatile!  I used the Paisley Petals Designer Paper (check out the special HERE).  I love the prints on these!!  I stamped the sentiment in Black Stazon, then stamped over that with the large flower from Fabulous Florets--I used Calypso Coral ink.  I always stamp first, then punch out--it's easier to punch straight than it is to stamp straight!!  I even punched out the white, then adhered it to a larger piece of Calypso Coral cardstock--THEN, punched it out with the scallop oval punch!!  The little detail in the upper right hand corner was created with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, and then a strip of pearls layered on that!

Measurements:

Whisper White:  4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2", plus scrap for sentiment

Calypso Coral:  scrap for scallop oval punch

Designer Paper:  Coral piece, 4" x 1 3/4";  blue piece, 3 1/4" x 2 1/2";  olive piece, 3 1/4" x 1 3/8", plus a scrap for the ribbon punch!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!

Be sure and check out the rest of the team HERE.

Sketch Frenzy Friday!

Happy Friday!!!  I love, love, love the sketch this week!!  Thanks, Jennifer, for such a fun one to work with!!

Yes, it's nice and clean--my favorite kind!!!  Here's my card:

Sff080511

Very simple!  But, you could make this card in any color, with any designer paper or sentiment!!  And, it's so quick and easy!  I used my new set that Stampin' Up! sent me for FREE!!!!  I love them--I received a box with FOUR free stamp sets yesterday--fun, fun, fun!!!  (the sets were for my accomplishments from July '10 through June '11:  sales, recruiting, and leadership!)  Anyway, this particular set is called "Perfectly Penned".  It's a set of four sentiments.  I love it because the font is unique, and it could be used for masculine or feminine cards!  I used the "Letters to Santa" designer paper -- it's part of our current special of BUY 3 GET 1 FREE!!  (see the complete list HERE)  And, yes, it's holiday paper!  But, the colors and patterns are very versatile--I don't think this one looks holiday-ish at all!

Enough rambling!  Here are today's measurements:

Old Olive:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"

Blushing Bride:  5 1/4" x 4"

Early Espresso:  5 1/4" x 2"

Designer Paper:  5 1/4" x 1 3/4"

Hope you all have a wonderful day!!  Your next stop on our little blog hop is the

More Chipboard!!

Look what I found!!  More ideas from our meeting on Chipboard!!

Chipboard1
This is one of the tags in the Merry Medley On Board--it's scalloped and already has the hole punched!!  I covered it with my Old Olive Craft Stampin' Spot, then layered on a sentiment that I stamped and punched out!  Simple!!

Chipboard2
Another tag--this time I stamped directly onto the chipboard with classic ink.  I added a jumbo eyelet and some ribbon!  I also added a bit of bling in the lower right hand corner--three rhinestones!  I love how it turned out!!

Well, that's it for the chipboard this morning!! :-)  I hope you enjoyed it!  Go get some chipboard and play!!

Have a great day!!

Nacho Meeting Pics!

Good morning!!  I'm just now getting around to sharing some of the projects shown at our group meeting in July!!  One of our members had never really used chipboard, and requested some ideas on what to do with it.  I put together several ways:

Chipboard3

For this card, I simply stamped on the chipboard with Always Artichoke Classic Ink!  I used my Crop-a-dile to punch holes along the bottom, and ran my ribbon through it!

Chipboard4
The above card was done with designer paper!  Each of the chipboard pennants has been covered with the Just Add Cake Designer Paper.  I used my Pennant Builder punch to cut the paper, then adhered it to the chipboard using the Stampin' Up! Glue Stick.  (I put glue on the paper AND the chipboard, then rub with your fingers to ensure a good "stick")  On the two "plain" pennants, I used my sanding block along the edges--this is a great way to get rid of any excess paper along the edges--plus it looks cool!! :-)

Chipboard6
Isn't this one pretty?!!  So sparkly!!  For this one, I used the Big Shot Multi Purpose Adhesive Sheets.  I pressed the hearts onto the adhesive sheets--rub really good to make sure you get it covered!!  Then, poured glitter all over them!  For the spots that might have been missed with the adhesive sheets, I used my two-way glue pen to touch it up--then added the glitter again!  I used the Fine Supernova Glitter Stack for this card--the colors all coordinate nicely!!

This last card is my favorite:

Chipboard5

I used the Real Red Craft Ink and covered the entire butterfly.  The craft ink is so easy to work with, and the spots make it even easier to mush it all over!  I then poured on the Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder and heat set!!  It's sooooooo sparkly and pretty!!  And with all our new colors of embossing powder, you could have a rainbow of butterflies!!

So, what other ways can we use/alter the chipboard?  All the items here were made using the On Board Merry Medley, so they were already cut out!  Don't forget that you can cut out your own shapes with the Big Shot!!  Be sure to save all that chipboard that you come across!!  Even cereal boxes work!! :-)

Have a great day!!!

Wish Big!

Good morning!!  I was able to get so much done yesterday!!  My house is a mess, but I stamped all day anyway!!  I'm getting ready for the SUDSOL Blog Tour in two weeks--you do NOT want to miss this!!!  There will be 25 blogs, and you'll be amazed at all the talent!   It starts August 16!!

This card was done for MaryJo's Lunchtime Sketch Challenge!

Tssc185

I like the colors in this designer paper--kinda soft and bright at the same time.  The paper is called Just Add Cake.  (see the special on Designer Paper HERE!)  Colors used are So Saffron, Baja Breeze, Poppy Parade and Wild Wasabi.  I used my new Pennant Builder Punch for the main image, the Scallop Trim Border Punch for the red behind the stripes, and the little cirlce punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack for the three dots.  Oh, and for the "wish big", I used the Jewelry Tag punch--and just snipped off the end piece!!  I know, brilliant, right?!! :-)

Here are the measurements for the cardstock!

Baja Breeze:   4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2"

So Saffron:  3 3/4" x 5" (used with the Big Shot & Perfect Poka Dots Embossing Folder)

Wild Wasabi:  1 7/8" x 2 5/8"

Poppy Parade:  1 1/2" x 4 1/4", plus scrap for punching

Whisper White:  1 3/4" x 2 1/2", plus scrap for punching

Just Add Cake DSP:  1 1/4" x 4 1/4";  1  1/4" x 5 1/2"

Hope you like it!!  Have a GREAT day!

p.s.  do the measurements help you?  do like having them?  leave me a comment!
