Paper Player's Challenge!

Look at me!  Two posts in one day!!  Are you impressed?  haha!!

I had a few extra minutes this morning before I had to get moving, so I pulled out the Paper Player's Color challenge:

Colour Challenges

I had also received a new stamp set yesterday--Up, Up and Away!!  So, I wanted to use it!  Here in Albuquerque, we have a HUGE Balloon Fiesta each October--it's the largest in the world, and the most photographed event in the world!  So, of course, when I saw this stamp set, I had to have it!!

Pp59

Love the balloons!!  I used the three colors from teh challenge, along with Black.  I love the way this turned out!!!  Here's an up close view of the ribbon:

Pp59a
It's actually three separate pieces of ribbon, just layered!  Then, I used my Curly Label Punch for the sentiment!

Hope you like it!!!

Sudsolswap711

I used my favorite stamp set, Delicate Doilies!  Colors are Pool Party, So Saffron and Calypso Coral.  All just simple stamping!!  I'm sorry, but I don't have the measurements for this one--forgot to save one for myself, and didn't write them down!  I hope you'll forgive me!    Oh, and the greeting is from Happy Greetings, a set found in the Summer Mini Catalog!  This catalog expires on August 31!!  Be sure and look through it and make sure you have all you "need"!!   Here's a link to the online version:

SUDSOL - 24/7 Upline

Now, onto the projects!!  All my projects are made with the Cherish Friendship Stamp Set!  I don't usually like to color (ask my customers!!), but for some reason, I don't mind with this set!!

This first project was made using a pattern found on SUDSOL--it's four 3x3 notes in a little magazine-style holder:

Sudsolbt2a
I used the Bowl of Cherries for the 3x3 notecards.  We don't carry the notecards anymore, but they're super easy to make--cut a piece of cardstock 3" x 6", and score at 3"!  I made four for this project.  The black is 2 1/2" x 2 1/2".  I used the Cutter Kit to distress the edges.  The watercolor paper is 2 1/4" x 2 1/4".  I stamped with Black Stazon, then used my Aquapainter and ink refills to color the bowl of cherries.  Colors used:  Pacific Point, Real Red and Old Olive!

Here's a close up of the magazine file:

Sudsolbt2
I actually stamped the bowl of cherries with Real Red ink, then "smeared" it using the aquapainter.  I was going for a muted image, so that my sentiment would "pop"!

For my second project, I tried a Center Step Card:

Sudsolbt1
The chair image was the perfect size for this card!!!  I love doing this chair in bright blue!  I live in New Mexico, and it just reminds me of something you'd find in Santa Fe!  And, it matches my very bright blue kitchen!! :-)  Colors for this project are Pacific Point (see the patterned paper!), Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie.

And, last but not least, a really cool Corner Bookmark--I found this pattern on SUDSOL, too!!

Sudsolbt3
For the main image, I used the Chair again, but then punched out the flower basket with the 1 1/4" square punch!  The Real Red layer was punched with the 1 3/8" square punch.  Other punches used:  Eyelet Border Punch (real red) and the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border (pacific point).  I love how it turned out!  Here it is on a book page:

Sudsolbt3a
How cute, right?!!! :-)

I hope you've enjoyed my projects!!  Be sure and leave me some love in the form of comments!! :-)

And, my card!!!

Fm19cfc15

I used Flower Fest, a stamp set from the Summer Mini--but, don't panic--it' made the "Big" catalog, so you can get it anytime!!  I love how it works with the butterfly punch, so I don't have to cut them out by hand!  The "wishes" is from Fabulous Phrases--such a cute set!  I love the font--so girly!! :-)  I added bling on the bodies of the butterflies, than a small strip on the left.  Other items used:  Black Stazon Pad;  Marina Mist and Perfect Plum Stampin' Write Markers;  Big Shot & Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder!

And, here are your measurements:

Perfect Plum:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4";  2 1/4" x 1"

Whisper White:  5 3/8" x 4 1/8", plus scraps for butterflies and sentiment

Oh my goodness--have you seen the Holiday Mini Catalog yet?!!!!  I can't wait to share it with everyone!!!  It's awesome!!!  This set that I used is called Gently Falling, and is found in the upcoming Holiday Mini!  It's GORGEOUS!!!  I've missed the 2-step stamping, and this is a perfect 2-step stamp set!!  The color combo I got from the Color Coach--Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie!  It's a bit brighter than "normal" fall color combos, but since it's still summer, I thought it was appropriate!  Plus, we're stampers--who says we have to be "normal"?!!  haha!!  Other supplies used:  Stripes Embossing Folder, Old Olive Satin Ribbon, Pumpkin Pie taffeta ribbon, Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and the Word Window Punch!
