Stampin' Queens!!!!

Woohoo!!  It's time for the second week of the Stampin' Queens' Sketch Challenge!!  I thought this week's sketch (see the sketch HERE) was super fun!!  You'll be surprised by my card though--not my usual style!!

Sqsc2

What do you think?!!  I started with the designer paper for this card--it's from the Beau Chateau collection!  It's very pretty, and coordinates with the Elements of Style Stamp Set beautifully!  The colors are Marina Mist and Naturals White.  The ribbon is actually Very Vanilla, and then I sponged on some Marina Mist ink to "age" it?!!  The large scallop circle was cut using the Big Shot, then I put it back through using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing folder.  Other supplies used on this card:  Scallop Circle, 1 3/8" Circle and 1 1/4" Circle punches.

and, your measurements:

Marina Mist:  5 1/2" x 11", scored at 5 1/2";  4 1/8" x 2 /18" (I trimmed the corners to make the tag);  scrap for the 1 3/8" circle

Beau Chateau Designer Paper:  5 1/2" x 5 1/4"

Naturals White:  2" x 4", trimmed the corners for the tag;  4 1/2" x 4 1/2" for the large scallop circle;  scrap for the other two circles.

Enjoy!  And, be sure and check out the rest of the design team's creations on the Stampin' Queen's Blog!!  There's some super-talented ladies on this team!!!  I'm always blown away by their creations!

Divas Sketch Challenge #151

Happy Saturday!  Today's sketch is the last one from our fearless leader, Carol!  She has been drawing sketches for us for--I don't even know!!!  She's done some great sketches, and has been a wonderful leader for our sketch team!  She is stepping down, and we will miss her very much!!  But, we wish her will with all her other endeavors!!!  THANKS, CAROL, FOR EVERYTHING!!!!

Here's the sketch:

Divasc151sketch

She's going out with a bang, isn't she!?  This looked like a tough one, but it actually came together pretty easily!  Of course, when you're a simple stamper, it's almost always easy!! LOL!!

Divasc151

I used the Frightful Night Designer Paper (you can still take advantage of the Buy 3, Get 1 FREE!!), along with the Spider Web Embossing folder.  Colors are Old Olive and Basic Black.

I will try to come back and post the measurements--right now, as I compose this post, I have a terrible migraine!  So, I'm off to bed now.  Hoping it's gone when I wake up tomorrow morning!  (which is when you'll be reading this post!!  All so confusing!! haha!!)

Have a great day!  Be sure to check out the rest of the design team HERE!

I used my favorite set from the upcoming Holiday Mini Catalog!  It's called Gently Falling, and it's gorgeous!!!  It's a two-step stamp set, and so easy to use!  I can't wait to show you at my classes!!  I also used the coordinating Designer Paper, Spice Cake!  The colors in this paper are so cool!!!  I used Soft Suede and Pool Party for this card--isn't it gorgeous?!!  Other supplies used:  Sweetly Said Stamp Set, Very Vanilla Satin ribbon, Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder

And, your measurements:

Very Vanilla:  4 1/4" x 11, scored at 5 1/2;  plus a piece for the sentiment and leaf.  I punched out the sentiment, and hand cut the leaf!

Soft Suede:  4 1/4" x 1 1/2";  2 1/2" x 2 1/2"

Weaving..........

Sqsc1a

I wanted to try my hand at paper weaving, so here's what I came up with!!  I used the sketch from the Stampin' Queens again--I think I might like this one better than the first!!  (HERE)

I used the Up, Up & Away stamp set for the sentiment circle.  To get the multi-colored balloon, i just colored it with my Stampin' Write markers!  (color right onto the rubber, then stamp!)  The paper weaving is done with the Flirtatious Designer Paper--then to hide any uneven (ugly) edges, I layered it behind a 3" cirlce I cut out with my Big Shot.

So, what do you think?  I love it!!  And, it's a great way to use up all those little strips of designer paper we all have laying around!

Have a great day!!

Stampin' Queens!!!!

I am so excited to announce a new challenge blog!!  The Stampin' Queens!!!  Christena has started this new design team, and I'm honored to be a part of it all!!  And, wait until you see all the ladies on this team--WOW!!!  I can't wait to see what they share!!!

These sketches will definitely challenge me--as you know I'm a pretty simple stamper!!  I specialize in Clean and Simple stamping!  These sketches are a bit more than CAS, but I hope to show you that it's okay to step out of your box once in awhile!!  Of course, there will still be loads of clean and simple on this blog!! haha!!

Onto the sketch:

SQSC1SKETCH

Pretty, huh?!!!  Of course, with the circles, my first thought was Delicate Doilies!!  (surprise, surprise!!)

Sqsc1

I also used the coordinating designer paper, Flirtatious!  Love, love, love the bright colors!!

Supplies used:  Delicate Doilies & Happy Greetings Stamp Sets;  Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight & Pumpkin Pie Card stock;  Melon Mamo, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight & Black Stazon Ink;  White Satin Ribbon; 1 3/4" Circle Punch;  Big Shot;  Circles #2 Die;  3 1/2" Circl Die;  3" Circle Die

and, your measurements:

Whisper White:  5 1/2" x 11", scored at 5 1/2";  3 3/4" x 3 3/4" (for large circle);  2 1/4" x 2 1/4" for small circle;  1 5/8" x 1 5/8"

Melon Mambo:  3 1/4" x 3 1/4" for circle (this was embossed with the new Snow Burst Embossing Folder, found in the Holiday Mini)

Pumpkin Pie:  2 1/4" x 2 1/4" for 2" circle;  1 3/4" x 1 3/4"

Daffodil Delight:  2" x 2"

Flirtatious DSP:  5 1/4" x 1 3/4"--you'll need three panels

Have a GREAT day!

Good morning!!  Sorry for not posting yesterday!  My niece is staying with us for a few days (she's on her way to college), and I've been enjoying some time with her!  I made this card for my downline meeting last Friday!  Once a quarter, we have a Shoebox Swap--such a fun night!  We just sit, stamp, visit and laugh!!  These ladies are so much fun, and I always feel re-energized after our get-togethers!!

Tkfite

It's another center step card!  I love making these--they're so easy!!  This one uses the Gently Falling Stamp set, and my current favorite color combo:  Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive!!  Extras include the Old Olive Satin Ribbon, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch, Modern Label Punch and the Word Window Punch!!

Please be sure and come back by tomorrow!!!  We're introducing a brand new sketch challenge blog:  The Stampin' Queens.  I am very excited to be a part of this awesome design team!!  And, we're introducing the first sketch challenge tomorrow!!!!

Sketch Frenzy Friday!

Happy Friday!  I know the boys are happy it's Friday--it's been a long week, getting up at 5:45am!!  They were really used to sleeping until noon!!!  (teenagers!!)

Friday also means it's time for another Sketch Frenzy Challenge!!!  This week's is a fun one brought to us by Angela Walters!

SFF072911a-001

I had fun with this one!!!

Sff081911

I used some of my items from the upcoming Holiday Mini Catalog!!!  (can't wait for you to see this one!).  The stamp set is called "Gently Falling", and is one of the most beautiful sets I've seen!  It's a 2-step stamping set, which means you have a solid image, then an outline image to stamp over the top!  Makes for very easy multi-colored images!!!  I also used the Spice Cake Designer Paper, and pulled the colors from it!  The solid image is stamped in Pool Party, and the outline is Soft Suede!  There is also some More Mustard in the pattern--what a pretty color combination!!!  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, and I added 3 rhinestones to it for a little bling.

Lots of punches used on this card:  large and scallop oval punches;  1 1/4" & 1 3/8" Square punches.

Here are your measurements:

Soft Suede:  4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2"; three 1 3/8" punched squares; plus scrap for scallop oval punch

Spice Cake DSP:  4" x 5 1/4"

Pool Party:  1 5/8" x 1 5/8" (need 3 of these)

Very Vanilla:  Three 1 1/4" Square punched pieces (stamp first, then punch!); plus a scrap for the oval punched piece.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!  Be sure to check out the entire blog hop this morning!!  Your next stop is the home page:  www.sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com
