Divas Sketch Challenge #147

Happy Saturday!!!  Are you doing anything fun this weekend?  We're headed to Ruidoso for a family reunion!  Should be loads of fun!  At least it will be a bit cooler than Albuquerque!!

It's Saturday, that means a sketch from the Utah Divas!!!  Here's the fun sketch:

Screen shot 2011-01-11 at 1.35.29 PM

and my card:

Divasc147

I came across the Inkspirations Color Challenge, and it was my favorite color combo!!!

Ink80cc.

I hadn't used it in awhile, so I pulled them all out!  I cheated though--I used Very Vanilla instead of Whisper White!!  Sorry!

The card is pretty straightforward, so I won't bore you with step-by-step instructions!!  But, here are the measurements to help you out:

Concord Crush:  4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2";  1 3/4" x 3"

Peach Parfait:  3" x 4/14"

Pear Pizzazz:  2" x 3 1/4"

Very Vanilla:  1 5/8" x 2 7/8", plus scrap for sentiment

First Edition Designer Paper:  3 3/4" x 2 1/4"

Please let me know if you have any questions!!!

Now it's time to check out the other designers--head on over to the Utah Divas' Blog!!!

Sketch Frenzy Friday!

Good morning! This was a fun sketch, if I do say so myself!!  Yep, this one is by yours truly!!

SFF072911sketch

And, here's my card:

  Sff072911
I decided not to do a square card, although this could easily have a  4 1/4" square card!    I started with Rich Razzleberry for my card base, then added the a scallop square of First Edition Designer Paper.  This was cut out using my Big Shot and Scallop Square Duos Die.  I stamped the flower from Fabulous Florets and colored it with Rich Razzleberry and Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Markers.  I then masked it and stamped the tall leaf image over the top (in Old Olive)!  I wanted some green on the main image, but I really wanted the flower to POP!!  I added the buttons, but they were a bit plain, so I added Rhinestones to the centers of the buttons!!  I love it!  The Buttons are from the Brights collection--so pretty!!  Oh, almost forgot--the entire front of the card was embossed using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder!

Here are the measurements:

Rich Razzleberry:  4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 /12"

Old Olive:  2 1/8" x 1 3/4"

Very Vanilla:  2" x 1 3/4", plus a scrap for stamping the sentiment

Pumpkin Pie:  scrap for sentiment layer

Come back tomorrow--I have another beauty using the Fabulous Florets to share with you!!!

Please head on over to the Sketch Frenzy Blog and check out the other designers' cards!!  Alot of talent on this wonderful team!!!  Be sure to leave a link to your creation--we'd love to see what you can do with the sketch!!

July11sas3

I used the Flower Fest Stamp Set, along with a greeting from Happy Greetings!  The flowers were stamped on Whisper White cardstock in Tangerine Tango Ink, then punched out with the 5-Petal Punch!  I used the paper piercer and mat to poke a hole in the center of each and added a Tempting Turquoise Brad.  The squares were punched out using the 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" square punches.  The tempting turquoise cardstock was sent through the big shot with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder--for some added texture!  I also added the leaves in Old Olive ink, and the sentiment is stamped in Tempting Turquoise ink!  Quick and easy card, but I really like it!!  (the card is 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2)

This next one is for a guy!

July11sas5

Talk about simple, huh?!!  Very straightforward card--stamped the ties in River Rock ink on Whisper White cardstock.  Then, stamped them again on a scrap of white in Not Quite Navy ink and cut out just one of the ties.  I adhered that to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Put the card all together, then stamped the sentiment in Not Quite Navy ink!

Here are the measurements:

River Rock cardstock:  5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4

Whisper White:  2 1/4 x 5 1/2, plus scrap

Not Quite Navy:  2 1/2 x 5 1/2

Have a GREAT day!!!

Post it Note Holder!

Hi!  Can you believe it--a second post for today?!!  Well, when I posted a few days ago this really cute cover for a post-it notepad that my super sweet upline sent me, I received several emails asking me for measurements and details!  So, I sat down this morning and played with it!  It's actually very simple to do, and loads of fun!!  Here's the one I came up with:

Postit1

It uses Peach Parfait, Marina Mist, Whisper White and Paisley Petals Designer Paper.  And, of course, I just had to use the Delicate Doilies Stamp set!!

I didn't have the same size post-it pad, so I used one that is 4x4:

Postit2

Okay, you might want to shop around for a pad that matches!! haha!!  Purple kinda clashes, but hey--it's what I had on hand!

So, how do you make this?  Read on:

1.  Cut two Scallop Squares using your Big Shot and the Scallop Square Clear Die.

2.  Cut another piece of Peach Parfait cardstock to 8 1/2" x 4".  You'll score this at 4" and 4 1/2" along the 8 1/2" side.

3.  Adhere the two scallop squares to the top and bottom of your folded piece of Peach Parfait, and add your Post-it Notes!

That's it!  Easy-Peasy!!  Now decorate the front/top as desired.  I used a 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" piece of Marina Mist, then layered a 3" x 3" piece of Paisley Petals Designer Paper.  I stamped the doily image twice--once in Marina Mist and once in Peach Parfait.  Punch out the Marina Mist image with the 2 1/2" circle punch.  Cut out the Peach Parfait image with your Paper Snips, and adhere using a Stampin' Dimensional!  I added a Rhinestone as a final touch!

If you would like to make the smaller size (HERE), the steps are the same as above, but use the following measurements for the inside piece of cardstock:

7 3/8" x 3 1/2", scored at 3 1/2" and 3 7/8".

July Stamp-a-Stack!!

Good morning!!!  It's such a nice day here in the Sunny Southwest!  It's not too hot yet, and the boys are still asleep, so it's nice and quiet!! LOL!!

I wanted to share with you today the cards we made on Sunday at our Stamp-a-Stack!  We had so much fun!  I haven't laughed so hard in a long time!  (well, at least since my group meeting on Friday night!)  I LOVE my "job"!!!

July11sas2

This was one of the favorites--I think because it was quick and easy!!  It's just Melon Mambo and Whisper White!  The stamp sets we used are Fabulous Florets and Curly Cute.  This really is a great card--you could do it in any color!!  I saw one similar done in black and white--but, I didn't have any black ribbon, so I used what I had!!  You can, too!!!

July11sas4

This is the card that caused the most grumbling!! :-)  haha!!  Just because they had to color it in!!  Doesn't this chair remind you of something you'd see in Santa Fe?!  I love it!  The stamp set is Cherish Friendship.  It's not my normal "style", but I really have enjoyed working with it!  It's a set that I received for FREE from Stampin' Up!  They really spoil us--I've received about 10 free sets in the last month or so!!!  Again, I love my "job"!!!

I will show you the other cards tomorrow!!!  Have a great day!!

I love this card!!!  Isn't the 'sand' cool?!!!!

And, here's a post-it note pad--I use these ALL the time!  (I can't remember anything anymore! haha!)

Divas Sketch Challenge #146

Good morning!  Today's share is for the Divas' Sketch Challenge over at the Utah Divas International blog!  It was a tough one for me!

Divasc146sketch

and my card:

Divasc146

I know you're surprised that I used Delicate Doilies!! Haha!!  It just seemd to fit!!  I also used colors from this week's Color Lab Challenge:

Color Lab Challenge 50

I really like these colors together!

For the focal image, I stamped the large Doily image in Black Stazon on each of the colors of cardstock.  Then, I trimmed off the parts I didn't want!  I layered them, using Stampin' Dimensionals to add depth.  The two strips are comprised of Riding Hood Red and Lucky Limeade cardstock.  The black is actually Black Satin Ribbon--not sure you can tell from the picture!  The sentiment is also stamped in Black Stazon, and I added some little rhinestones for some sparkle!  Hope you enjoy it!!

Be sure you hop on over to the UDI blog and check out the rest of the team's creations!!!

Have a GREAT day!!

Sketch Frenzy Friday!

Happy Friday!!!  It's the start of a VERY busy weekend for me!  My Nacho Average Stampers' meeting tonight--can't wait to see everyone and hear all about convention!!!  Then a stamp club meeting on Saturday, and a Stamp-a-stack on Sunday!!  Fun, fun, fun!!!

For now though, please enjoy our fun little blog tour!!  The sketch today:

Sketch+07222011-001

It's brought to us by Tammy Baldwin!  (or, as I refer to her, Tammy #1!!)  I just couldn't seem to make this work as a square, so I made a "normal" sized card:

Sff072211

Sorry for the dark pic!  I waited until the last minute to make my card, and the sun had already set by the time I photographed it!!  (shame on me!! LOL!)

The card base is Whisper Whtie, then layered with the Flirtatious Designer Paper.  Love the colors in this paper--so girly!!!  For the sentiment panel, I stamped two of the Delicate Doilies in Daffodil Delight and Pretty in Pink.  Then, I stamped the sentiment in Black Stazon.  It's from the Summer Mini Catalog, and is called "Happy Greetings".  It's a nice all-around sentiment set!

What do you think of my bow?!!  I was pretty proud of it!!  For those of you that know me, you know that I don't "do" bows!!  But, I gave it a shot, and this one turned out pretty!  It's done in Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon!

I think that's it for my card!  Oh, I almost forgot the pearls--they look crooked in the picture, but I promise that they're straight on the card!!

So, for the next stop, please check out the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog!  This is where you will come back to after you've made your card using our sketch!  Be sure and use the Linky tool, and we'll all come and leave you some love!!

Have a great day!!!

Gifts..............

My youngest son has played tennis all summer, and is having a blast!  He really loves his coaches, so all the parents pitched in for a gift for them!  Here is the card I made to hold  the money!  It fits in a small open-ended envelope!

Tenniscoachgifts

Yes, this is a retired set--sorry!!  I don't usually show you anything you can't get your hands on, but I had to use it this time!!  Colors are Pretty in Pink and Daffodil Delight.  Here's the inside:

All the kids signed on the right side!  Both coaches were volunteering, and did a GREAT job!!!  The kids learned alot and had a blast doing it!!!  Thanks, girls!!!

Measurements:  6 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 2" and 5 1/4"
