Divas Coffee Break Design Challenge #183

Happy Hump Day!!!  With summer in full swing, I don't really think of it as "hump day"!!  No humps to get over during the summer!!  Can you believe it's the last day of June!!!  That means that today is the last day to shop from the 2009-2010 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog!!  I'm sad to see some sets go (Wanted!!), as well as my Bold Brights--BUT, I've see the new catalog, and it will make you forget the old one very quickly!! :-)  If you don't have yours yet, stop on by and pick one up!  You're going to love it!!

Okay, on to the point of my post--the Divas' Coffee Break Design Challenge!  It's a sketch this week (you can see it HERE), and it was a tough one!! :-) (isn't that why it's called a "challenge"!!)  I was really stuck for ideas for this one, so I went to some color challenges--that helped a bunch!!  My color combo comes from the Colour Q Challenge of Bravo Burgundy, Real Red, Brocade Blue (will miss you!), Night of Navy & Whisper White!!!

I used two retiring sets:  Happy Everything and Taffy Alphabet Numbers.  The "th" is from the Rough Type Alphabet found in the Summer Mini catalog.  I used the Seeing Stars Stamp Set for the background,and the large star punch for my diagonal stripe!  It's a colorful card!!

Divas Sketch Challenge #89

Good morning!!  Aren't you happy that it's Saturday?!!!  We're off to more baseball games, then relaxing by the pool!! 

Here's my version of the sketch challenge over at the UDI Blog:

Boy, when I first saw this sketch, I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it!!  Then, as I sat and looked at my desk, it all came together!! :-)  I used Watercolor Paper to stamp the images on--even the sentiment.  I stamped the sentiment in Black Stazon, then over that I used Pink Passion (so sorry to see it go!!).  After I stamped the scroll, I went over it with my Aquapainter to "smudge" it a bit--I like the effect!!  

The colors used were from Krista's Color Challenge!

Other supplies used: 

Stamps:  Elements of Style & Occasional Quotes (NEW hostess set!!)

Ink:  Black Stazon;  Pink Passion & Wild Wasabi Classic Ink

Cardstock:  Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Pink Passion & Watercolor Paper

Misc:  Black Satin Ribbon

Mojo Monday #144

WOW!!  It's been awhile since I was able to participate in the Mojo Monday Sketch!  But, I needed a card for my Shoebox Swap tonight, so I used this week's sketch to help me out!

I used the Tropical Party stamp set, along with the Travel Journal Designer Paper.  I really like these colors together!!  (Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green & Bashful Blue).  For the Bashful Blue layer, I used the Square Lattice Embossing folder to add some texture.  The little embellishments in the bottom right were done with silver brads and one of the Itty Bitty Shapes Punches.

I sure hope the girls like it tonight!!

Money Holder.........

Good morning!!  I'm so excited--I have a friend coming over today, and I'm going to help her with a few scrapbook pages!!  Baseball pages--how fun!!

Here's a money hold I made for my son's friend that turned 15 on Monday!

He's on the high school team with my son, but I thought they might be too old for a baseball theme?  It's so hard to decide what to do for them as they get older!!  I used Celebrate Everything--I use this set ALL the time, so will probably hold onto it after it retires on June 30.  The candle is from Party Heart.  I stamped the "Celebrate" with Silver Encore ink, and the rest is done with Black Stazon.  Carstock used:  Basic Black, Silver and Whisper White.

Here's the inside:

Measurements were:  6 3/4" x 7 1/4", Scored at 1 1/4" and 4 1/4" on the 7 1/4" side.  Honestly, I don't measure most of the time--I just put the dollar bill on the cardstock, and mark how wide to make it, leaving enough room for the Sticky Strip, then just kinda fold it around the money!!  (I did put more than a $1 in!!! haha!!)

"CASE" Challenge

Happy Monday!!  Here is a card I made for the CASE (Copy and Share Everything!) Challenge on SUDSOL (a web group for Stampin' Up! demonstrators).

I used the soon-to-be-retired set, Starring You.  The Designer Paper is called Travel Journal, and can be found in the Summer Mini Catalog!  Colors used:  Bashful Blue, Night of Navy & Pumpkin Pie.  I also used the large and small star punches, and Bashful Blue Satin Ribbon.

Happy Father's Day!!

What a beautiful day here in the sunny Southwest!!!  I want to wish all the fathers a GREAT DAY!!  We're grilling steaks this afternoon, and basically doing NOTHING all day!!!  Probably swim and just hang out!!  That sounds like heaven to me!!
