July 2008

I'm Back!!!

Good morning!!!  I'm back from my vacation--what a great time we had!!  The weather was great (hot!!), and we really enjoyed it all!!!  My favorite thing was the zipline through the jungle canopy!!!  We were 90 feet up!!!!  The boys LOVED it!!  CRUISE2008 003

Here's a shot of Rich and the boys--this is last Sunday (20th), and we're waiting to get on the ship!!  Isn't it pretty?!!!  The weather in Long Beach was overcast, but it was a blessing--not quite so hot!!

I do have a couple of stamping things to share with you--I hope to get them posted in the next day or two!!

Have a great day!!

Birthday Money Holder

Hi!!  My kids are at the age where it's soooo hard to pick out gifts for their friends!  So, we usually give money or gift cards.  (plus, I love to make these holders!!).  Anyway, last Saturday, Bran had a birthday party to go to, and this is the money holder I made:

Bdaygc

I used Real Red Cardstock for the base--I don't really measure--just fold it around the money or gift card!!  I used the Classic Stars Jumbo Wheel on the Red and on the white cardstock.  The letters are from the Taffy Alphabet.  The baseballs are from the retired "Sporting Goods" stamp set.  I NEVER get rid of any of the sports stamp sets!!  It's so hard to find them, and I use them all the time.  (with 2 boys in sports, it's hard not to!!)

Bdayinside

Here's the inside of the money holder.  The bottom flap is "wheeled", too.  I then stamped the "Happy Birthday" from the soon-to-be-retired "It's Your Birthday" stamp set.  (love this one--will miss it!!)  I punched out the notch using the 1 1/4" circle punch.

These are so easy to make!!!  And, giving a personalized gift is so much fun!!

Have a great day!!

Happy Stamping!

Convention Downline Gifts

Good morning!!!  Right now, I'm getting ready to go on an excursion through the jungle canopy in Puerta Vallarta!!!  Wish me luck!!!  I'm so afraid of heights--I can't believe I agreed to this!!  Being the mom of boys is hard sometimes!! :-)

Okay, on to the stamping!!  I mailed these to my downline that are attending the Stampin' Up! convention this year--right before I left for the cruise.  They should have gotten them by now, so I'm not ruining the suprise!!  (unless this posts before it's scheduled to!! haha!!)

Downlinegifts 003

It's a DVD tin (www.effectuality.com)!!  I decorated it using one of our new Card Elements Kit!  Normally, these are used to make 9 cards--everything is included--but I loved the colors and wanted to use it for this!  I love the colors--so rich!  And, they sorta matched the convention colors!!

This is the inside--it's got a notepad for notes.  On the left, I tried to make an accordian file.  I thought it would be a great place to keep travel receipts, business cards, tickets, etc.  I sure hope they like them!!!

Good morning!!  I received this beautiful card from Nancy!  I just love the bling on it!!!

Bloggerraknancy

It's hard to see against the black background, but the card base is Black cardstock, then the white is layered onto that.  I guess I need to buy some different fabric for my picture background!!  Anyway, the card is absolutely beautiful!  Thanks so much, Nancy!!!
