Woohoo Wednesday Winner!!

My wonderful upline does a fun "woohoo wednesday" every week.  We all post to the group's yahoo site, sharing our "woohoo's" from that week.  They can be stamping or not.  Then, she draws names and sends the winner a present!!!  Here's what I received:

Gift Certificate Holder

Here's a gift certificate holder I made for a customer of mine!  Her birthday is today (Happy Birthday, Laura!!), and her family bought her a gift certificate!!  For some reason I can't just hand anyone a plain 'ole gift certificate!!  I always have to dress it up!!

Tkfitegiftcer1 I used Bashful Blue cardstock as the base, then covered it with the Le Jardin Designer Paper.  The medalion is from Carte Postale.  The band is So Saffron, and the scalloped edge is Always Artichoke.

Here is the inside view--you can actually see the bashful blue!! haha!!

Have a great day!!

Super Sketch Sunday #4

Good morning!!  I got alot of stamping done this weekend!!  My house is a mess, but I'm happy!! haha!!  This was the first weekend in a long time that we didn't have baseball games--now, I really do love baseball, and enjoy watching my boys play, BUT, this weekend was so nice and relaxing!!  For the boys, too!!  We bought a Wii for them (we decided to stimulate the economy just a bit with our Bush money!!), and they played all weekend!!  It's really fun--and you really do have to be and active to play!!!  So, all in all, we've had a wonderful "family" weekend!!

Back to the stamping!!  I made this card for Amy's Super Sunday Sketch. I just love her blog--she has such talent!!!  And, she LOVES patterned paper!! haha!!  That's always a challenge!  She not only gives us a sketch, but she makes us use 3 different papers!!!  It's fairly simple when you use Stampin' Up!'s designer paper--all the patterns in one package coordinate!!

For this card, I used the East Coast Prep designer paper!  I also used Bud Basics--it's an older set, but somehow it's the one I've been reaching for lately!!  I think it works well with the bright colors of summer!

Other items used:  Real Red & Whisper White cardstock; "Hello" from Sweet Shapes stamp set; tempting turquoise grosgrain ribbon

For the pearl embellishment (see below), I simply punched out three circles using the 1/2" circle punch.  I then adhered the half pearls from the Pretties Kit with Mini Glue Dots!!  I love the way it turned out!!!

Hope you all have a wonderful week!!

Lunchtime Sketch Challenge #19

It's me again!!  I have been stamping away today!!  Here's a card for Mary Jo's Lunchtime Sketch:

Challenges 004

Again, I used the Bud Basics stamp set--hey, it was just sitting there on my desk!!!  This time I paired it with the Afternoon Tea Designer Paper!  The colors are Soft Sky and Wild Wasabi.  The three brads are from the Silver Hodgepodge Hardware kit.

I punched out 3 wild wasabi circles with the 1/2" circle punch, adhered them to the paper, then punched in the center of each with the 1/8" punch.  Then, just put the brads in!!  Easy Peasy!!

Here's a close up:Challenges 007

Have a great night!!  I'm going to watch a little TV with my hubbie!!!

MOJO #39

Good morning!!  Happy Memorial Day to all!!  And, a big thank you to all the military personnel and their families for all the sacrifices you make for our freedom!  Just about my entire family is linked to the military somehow!!  Both Rich and I grew up in the military, and then served when we were younger.  My brother is still in the Air Force, and is (thankfully) not overseas right now.  He and his wife have done several tours of duty in the war zone.  I know how hard military life can be, but I also know that it was one of my favorite times in my life, and we made lifelong friendships.  Again, thanks to all who serve!!!

I was able to stamp a little this morning, and made this card for Julee's Mojo Monday sketch!

Tkfmojo39

I used the "A Little Birdie Told Me" stamp set, along with the Bali Breeze Designer Paper!  Colors used were Tempting Turquoise & Pumpkin Pie.

The birds were "colored" by stamping the image onto designer paper, then cutting out.  I adhered the paper image onto the image I had stamped on Whisper White cardstock!

Have a GREAT day!

Money Holder

My oldest son (almost 13) attended a GIRL'S birthday party this weekend!!  Not sure I'm ready for the whole girl-boy thing yet!! haha!!  But, it's coming, so I guess I'd better get ready, huh?!!  Anyway, I just don't know what to get 13 year olds--girls or boys--so I usually just send money.  I know it's not very personal, but it's better than them having to take things back!! :-)

Here's the money holder I made for her:

Bday2

The base is Pumpkin Pie, with temptin turquoise scallops.  The designer paper is from Bali Breeze.  Also used:  Pumpkin Pie striped grosgrain, Happy Everything stamp set, Pumpkin Pie & Tempting Turquoise classic ink.

Happy Stamping!!!
