I am so excited to share this card with you!! I belong to a great group of demonstrators--each month, we each do a tutorial on a specific technique or card fold! This month, my assignment was a Shutter Card! I absolutely LOVE how this one turned out!! There's a link below to download the PDF Tutorial!
- Stamp Set: Merry Mistletoe
- Ink: Real Red, Old Olive
- Paper: Real Red, Basic Black, Old Olive and Glossy Paper
- Misc: Big Shot, Holly Embossing Folder, Old Olive 1/8” Sheer Ribbon, SNAIL Adhesive, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Stampin’ Sponges
- Real Red: 5 ½” x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”; 4 1/8” x 3 1/8”
- Basic Black: 5 ¼” x 4”
- Old Olive: 5 1/8” x 3 7/8”
- Glossy: 4” x 3”
- Take your glossy paper, and add color using your Stampin’ Sponges and Real Red and Old Olive Ink. You must do this step before the “soot”—you can’t add color after the soot step.
- Using a Candle (I used a taper candle, as it was easier to handle) or lighter, “burn” your cardstock—the flame will need to actually touch the cardstock to create the soot. Be careful along the edges—it tends to catch fire! Keep going until you have the desired amount of soot for your card. Be VERY careful with it – the soot is removed very easily with your fingers, the wick, etc! In the picture below, I was trying for just a touch more soot, and touched the cardstock with the wick:
- Once you’re happy with your soot, very carefully “stamp” – you’re not using any ink at all. The stamp with remove the soot, and leave behind the color!
- Once finished stamping, spray your piece with an Acrylic Sealer so that the soot stays in place!
- Emboss your Old Olive piece using the Big Shot and Holly Embossing Folder.
- Adhere your soot piece to the Real Red Cardstock.
- Wrap the Old Olive Ribbon around this piece – I did it 3 times—then tie a bow!
- Assemble your card. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere my main image to the card base.
Good morning!! We made this fun gift card holder at Patsy's workshop in November! All the ladies loved it, so I thought I would share it with you!
It's really just a Medium Very Vanilla envelope folded in half, and embellished!! Here's the inside, so you can see what I mean:
So, all you do--fold the envelop in half, and crease with your bone folder. Then, open it up and cut a slit in the flap of the envelope, along the fold line. "Seal" the left half of the flap closed. Then, stamp and embellish! Here are the measurements I used:
For the front:
Gumball Green cardstock: 2 3/4" x 4 1/4", scrap for Decorative Label Punch (punch, then cut in half and adhere to back of sentiment to create the mat)
Be of Good Cheer Designer Paper: 2 1/2" x 4"
Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon: about 20"
For the inside:
Cherry Cobbler cardstock: 2 1/2" x 4"
Very Vanilla cardstock: 2 3/8" x 3 7/8"
I used the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set for both the sentiment and the inside--makes it just a bit more festive!!

I've been making these Fudge Treats for several years now. This year, I decided to change it up a bit, and just use regular sized candy bars!

Here's how to make these SUPER easy treats:
Here's what you'll need (click on pic to make it bigger!):
I used the Scentsational Christmas Stamp Set and Real Red classic ink. But, you can decorate any way you choose!! (leave me a comment so I can see your ideas!)
Cut and score your Real Red cardstock, then fold and adhere closed. You'll have two open ends.
Wrap your designer paper (I used a design from the Snow Festival Designer Paper) around the Real Red sleeve and adhere.
Now, punch a hole in the top of the Real Red Sleeve:
I used the 1/4" punch found in the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. I punched one side, then used that hole as a guide to punch the other side.
Now, print out the Homemade Christmas Fudge poem:
I found this poem in an old Paper Crafter's Magazine, and I created this file. I did NOT write the poem!
Trim your poem, then layer onto your Gumball Green cardstock and attach to your Real Red sleeve.
Insert your Gumball Green 1/4" Sweater Trim (use about 18") through both holes.
Then, insert your candy bar--use it to "push" your sweater trim into the sleeve:
insert completely, so that you can't see the candy bar:
then tie a know in your sweater trim:
You'll want the know fairly close to the opening, to keep the candy bar from slipping out the bottom.
Now you can simply pull up on the ribbon to make the candy bar appear!!
I told you it was easy!! Can't wait to see what you do!!!
Good morning!! I'm just now getting around to sharing some of the projects shown at our group meeting in July!! One of our members had never really used chipboard, and requested some ideas on what to do with it. I put together several ways:
For this card, I simply stamped on the chipboard with Always Artichoke Classic Ink! I used my Crop-a-dile to punch holes along the bottom, and ran my ribbon through it!
The above card was done with designer paper! Each of the chipboard pennants has been covered with the Just Add Cake Designer Paper. I used my Pennant Builder punch to cut the paper, then adhered it to the chipboard using the Stampin' Up! Glue Stick. (I put glue on the paper AND the chipboard, then rub with your fingers to ensure a good "stick") On the two "plain" pennants, I used my sanding block along the edges--this is a great way to get rid of any excess paper along the edges--plus it looks cool!! :-)
Isn't this one pretty?!! So sparkly!! For this one, I used the Big Shot Multi Purpose Adhesive Sheets. I pressed the hearts onto the adhesive sheets--rub really good to make sure you get it covered!! Then, poured glitter all over them! For the spots that might have been missed with the adhesive sheets, I used my two-way glue pen to touch it up--then added the glitter again! I used the Fine Supernova Glitter Stack for this card--the colors all coordinate nicely!!
This last card is my favorite:
I used the Real Red Craft Ink and covered the entire butterfly. The craft ink is so easy to work with, and the spots make it even easier to mush it all over! I then poured on the Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder and heat set!! It's sooooooo sparkly and pretty!! And with all our new colors of embossing powder, you could have a rainbow of butterflies!!
So, what other ways can we use/alter the chipboard? All the items here were made using the On Board Merry Medley, so they were already cut out! Don't forget that you can cut out your own shapes with the Big Shot!! Be sure to save all that chipboard that you come across!! Even cereal boxes work!! :-)

Hi! Can you believe it--a second post for today?!! Well, when I posted a few days ago this really cute cover for a post-it notepad that my super sweet upline sent me, I received several emails asking me for measurements and details! So, I sat down this morning and played with it! It's actually very simple to do, and loads of fun!! Here's the one I came up with:
It uses Peach Parfait, Marina Mist, Whisper White and Paisley Petals Designer Paper. And, of course, I just had to use the Delicate Doilies Stamp set!!
I didn't have the same size post-it pad, so I used one that is 4x4:
Okay, you might want to shop around for a pad that matches!! haha!! Purple kinda clashes, but hey--it's what I had on hand!
So, how do you make this? Read on:
1. Cut two Scallop Squares using your Big Shot and the Scallop Square Clear Die.
2. Cut another piece of Peach Parfait cardstock to 8 1/2" x 4". You'll score this at 4" and 4 1/2" along the 8 1/2" side.
3. Adhere the two scallop squares to the top and bottom of your folded piece of Peach Parfait, and add your Post-it Notes!
That's it! Easy-Peasy!! Now decorate the front/top as desired. I used a 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" piece of Marina Mist, then layered a 3" x 3" piece of Paisley Petals Designer Paper. I stamped the doily image twice--once in Marina Mist and once in Peach Parfait. Punch out the Marina Mist image with the 2 1/2" circle punch. Cut out the Peach Parfait image with your Paper Snips, and adhere using a Stampin' Dimensional! I added a Rhinestone as a final touch!
If you would like to make the smaller size (HERE), the steps are the same as above, but use the following measurements for the inside piece of cardstock:
7 3/8" x 3 1/2", scored at 3 1/2" and 3 7/8".

The Punch Postage was used for the squares, and then I layered flowers punched with our new Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer punch! The brads are the Glimmer brads in In Colors, and the designer paper is from the Hostess Level I patterned paper pad. Colors used are Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzazz and Concord Crush.
